Surprisingly, the lawsuit focuses less on the ban and more on how the legislature passed it into law.

The state’s head legal officer doesn’t seem to know the difference between criminal and civil penalties.

The tie-breaking vote came down to a dissenting Republican.

And the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico is now a “trans Ellis Island.”

“So is it a big widespread thing?” she asked when the interviewer asked her about the anti-trans bill. Things went downhill from there.

Ron DeSantis laughed as he signed a bill to allow the state to take custody of trans kids if their parents are too supportive.

The laws attack LGBTQ+ rights across the board. Opponents say they’re part of DeSantis’s White House bid.

She said these words in a state that has passed a ban on public drag performance and has outlawed gender-affirming care for minors.

He said the AMA “simply will not stand” for the bans and will use “every avenue available” to oppose them.

“We’re not going to be protesting in a way that is comfortable for her that she can act like it doesn’t exist,” the transgender student said.

Oklahoma’s new law will force trans youth to detransition, even though every major medical association opposes it.

Zephyr says the GOP punished her because “I dared to give voice to the values and needs of transgender people like myself.”

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the state, saying that the law violates transgender people’s Equal Protection rights.

Zooey Zephyr said she would “continue to make the difficult moral choices” to represent her constituents despite the ban.

Unlike similar bans, this one allows some youth to receive gender-affirming care.

One Democratic lawmaker called out so-called parents’ rights activists for taking away parents’ rights to make health care choices for their children.

And far more are at risk of losing it.
