Geiger v. Kitzhaber

Geiger v. Kitzhaber is a federal court challenge filed October 15, 2013, in U.S. District Court in Eugene, Ore., on behalf of two couples, a pair of unmarried lesbians and two men already married in Canada, challenging Oregon's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. A similar case (Rummell and West v. Kitzhaber) was filed in December 2013. On January 22, 2014, U.S. District Judge Michael McShane consolidated the two lawsuits and scheduled oral arguments for April 23, 2014.
