Archbishop warns Obama of ‘conflict of enormous proportions’ over DOMA repeal

Federal judge orders release of Proposition 8 trial recordings
U.S. District Court Chief Judge James Ware on Monday ordered the release of the video and audio tapes of the Proposition 8 trial. In his 16-page ruling, Ware cited the need to preserve the integrity of the federal judiciary and stated that he saw no compelling reason keeping the tapes under seal.

The White House late Tuesday issued a statement criticizing efforts by North Carolina lawmakers seeking a state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, and said the President opposes laws “designed to take rights away.”
