Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was not happy on social media yesterday. She lashed out at Politico’s Olivia Beavers for reporting on a joke Donald Trump made at her expense, saying that the reporter took the joke out of context and promising that she is very loyal to Trump.

Trump visited the Capitol yesterday and spoke to Republican congressmembers in a closed-door meeting. Beavers reported that Trump pointed to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) – who Greene tried and failed to remove just a few months ago, with most of her Republican colleagues opposing her attempt to oust him and some even booing her on the House floor – and said, according to Beavers: “Hello, Marjorie, are you being nice to him?” Beavers said the room “erupted.”

“Nothing’s worse than a reporter that only reports half the story,” Greene wrote on X afterward, sharing a screenshot of Beavers’ reporting and claiming that Beavers “left off all the nice compliments” that Trump said about her.

“I’m loyal and unapologetically support him everywhere and all the time, and I am capable,” she said. “That’s why I’ll be nice to Johnson as long as he’s nice to my favorite President.”

Greene has been a fierce advocate of Trump, speaking at his rallies and advocating that the FBI be defunded ever since agents went to his Mar-a-Lago home to make him give back classified documents he allegedly illegally removed from the White House. She has shown support for the QAnon conspiracy theory in the past, which states that there is a secret international cabal of Satanic pedophiles who torture children to consume their “adrenochrome.” QAnon posits that Trump is in an epic, covert battle with the “Deep State” to stop this cabal.

On X, people mocked Greene’s sensitivity over the joke being reported, and her effectively confirming Beavers’ reporting.
