Conservatives rage that trans people were created by Satan because of this iconic “Drag Race” look

RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars season 13 contestant Gottmik wowed fans on the most recent episode of the show with a provocative look that paid unapologetic homage to the fact that he is the first trans man to compete on the long-running reality franchise. But while fans cheered the look, it has also sent anti-trans trolls on social media into truly apoplectic meltdown mode.

On last Friday’s episode, Gottmik took to the runway in a seafoam green corset skirt and little else.

“This look is something I’ve been wanting to do for so long,” he explained on the show, “because top surgery absolutely changed my life.”

Gottmik went on to explain that he’d molded his own arms to create something like a stole wrapped around his bare chest, with each artificial hand holding a scalpel that giggled over his top surgery scars, which were embellished with fake blood embedded with Swarovski crystals. To accessorize, he carried a clear plastic bag containing two fake breasts, also bejeweled with Swarovski crystals, naturally.

The look earned Gottmik the week’s top prize, $10,000 for his favorite charity, the Trans Lifeline.

“Seeing the emotional response this piece has had on so many people has really impacted me in the most amazing way and reminded me that this is why I do what I do,” Gottmik wrote in an Instagram post Monday, responding to the positive feedback from fans.

But, as he also noted, the daring statement also appears to have crashed “the cis-tem.”

On Sunday, Libs of TikTok’s Chaya Raichik apparently got around to watching All Stars, posting a clip of Gottmik’s runway walk on X. “RuPaul’s d*ag race featured a d*ag queen acting out undergoing a double mastectomy surgery,” Raichik wrote. “This is what RuPaul and d*ag promotes. Absolutely disgusting.” (It’s unclear whether the anti-trans hate influencer is aware that Gottmik is, in fact, a trans man.)

Along with Raichik’s followers, a few of the usual anti-trans trolls joined in the hand-wringing.

“LGBTQ+,” Canadian anti-trans psychologist Jordan Peterson wrote in a re-post of Libs of TikTok’s original, “Watch out for that plus.”

Former Fox News personality Megyn Kelly also weighed in. “This whole ideology is sick & obviously misogynistic,” she wrote.

But the award for most unhinged response has to go to anti-trans activist Riley Gaines. “Don’t you realize this is exactly what Satan wants you to believe?” she wrote on X. “Satan wants you to feel insecure. He wants you to believe that YOU can alter God’s intentional creation made uniquely in His image. The premise of the gender ideology movement is that mortals can play God.”

Meanwhile, Gottmik fans cheered the drag performer for short-circuiting the far-right’s collective mind.

“This is actually one of the best runways in the history of the show, and the fact that it’s causing such a stir in conservative media is actually a big part of the reason,” X user @abstort wrote. “Conversations are being had, and an impact has been MADE. gottmik is that b**ch.”

“Gottmik pissing off terfs only for them to affirm her being a man,” another X user posted. “Like HER MINDDD.”

For his part, Gottmik seems to be taking the controversy in stride, laughing all the way to Drag Race history.

“No one affirms my gender like the terf community hating my art!” he wrote on X.
