On Super Tuesday, NBC News interviewed voters to learn why they supported their preferred candidates.
And one man had no qualms saying the quiet part out loud – he would have never voted for Nikki Haley due to her gender.

The Wisconsin congressman says there’s a “real, strong message around freedom” but it needs to make it to the voting booth.
“A woman’s not going to be a good president, she don’t have no balls to scratch,” said Emmett MArtin. “She’s just gonna scratch her head.

“All women’s good for in my book is having babies and taking care of the house, and, you know, that’s the old thing, but I’m old-school,” he continued.
“So you never even considered her?” the reporter asked.
“No,” the man bluntly replied.
“Mainly because she’s a woman?” the reporter clarified.
“Because she’s female,” he confirmed.
The response underscores the misogyny that has always fueled Trump’s campaigns – all the way from his bragging about grabbing women by the p***y and accusing Hillary Clinton of playing the “woman card” in 2016 to his “cartoonishly evil” attempts to intimidate his rape victim in court in 2024.
And clearly, his supporters are paying attention.
Other voters interviewed by MSNBC praised Nikki Haley as the “voice of reason” rather than “the voice of treason.” One Haley supporter called Trump a “lunatic.”
Haley dropped out of the race on Wednesday, solidifying what everyone already knew: Donald Trump will be the Republican presidential candidate in the 2024 election.
The big question now is where Haley’s voters will take their support.
