An explicit video of two men having sexual intercourse in a U.S. Senate hearing room has caused right-wing media and influencers to blame LGBTQ+ people for the incident. One man in the video is reportedly an aide for Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) and once appeared in a political ad for President Joe Biden. Sen. Cardin has fired the accused aid, even though the aide has denied his involvement. LGBTQ Nation will not link to the video.

The video, first publicized by the right-wing outlet The Daily Caller, shows a young man in a black jockstrap kneeling upon an elevated hearing room table in Senate Room Hart 216 – the room used in judiciary hearings. The video shows the young man engaging in intercourse, though some online versions have blurred out the men’s faces and the act itself.

Homophobic Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) identified one man in the video as Aidan Maese-Czeropski, an aide to Sen. Cardin. Collins also accused the aide of recently saying, “Free Palestine” to Jewish Rep. Max Miller (R-OH). Maese-Czeropski has denied both of Collins’ accusations.

Nevertheless, Collins wrote on X, “Cardin staff wildin’. Making p**n at work and yelling ‘free Palestine’ at a Jewish congressman? I have a question: how long would Cardin’s filmmaker last in a free Palestine?

The accused aide allegedly sent the video to several Instagram friends and also shared a photo on Instagram Stories of himself kneeling on a Senate hearing table in a black jockstrap, gay journalist Zachary Sire reported.

The photo’s accompanying text allegedly stated, “In this very room, Sonia Sotomayor had her confirmation hearing. James Comey testified on Russian interference in the 2016 elections.” The photo’s concluding text made two food-based sexual innuendos.

The Daily Caller said it had “reviewed the chat where the video leaked and confirmed it was shared in a private group for gay men in politics.” White nationalist and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer wrote on X that the accused aide appeared to speak with Biden at the one-minute mark of a 2020 Biden campaign video. Other X commenters repeated her claim.

A spokesperson for Sen. Cardin said, “Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate. We will have no further comment on this personnel matter,” according to The New York Post. The United States Capitol Police are also investigating and may press criminal charges, the publication added.

Maese-Czeropski publicly denied the accusations on LinkedIn, writing, “This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda. While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgment, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace. Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated, and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.”

“As for the accusations regarding Congressman Max Miller, I have never seen the congressman and had no opportunity or cause to yell or confronted,” Maese-Czeropski added.

Some paying commenters on X used the leaked video as an excuse to scapegoat Democrats and LGBTQ+ people.

Martin Ssempa, an anti-gay African pastor who helped criminalize gay sex in Uganda, posted a five-minute video in which he said that the sex video showed LGBTQ+ people’s sexual “depravity” and “the loss of the American empire’s glory.”

Another paying X user, @TechLawExpert wrote “Seems to happen a lot with Democrats though. Cocaine in the White House, bare breasted trans woman on the White House lawn and now gay sex video filmed in the Senate Hearing Room. Just saying.”
