Right-wing anti-LGBTQ+ trolls are calling for a boycott of Netflix over an animated kids’ show that features two gay dads.

The streamer dropped all nine episodes of its new series CoComelon Lane last month. According to an official Netflix logline, the show is aimed at preschoolers and “explores the lives of beloved preschooler JJ and his best friends… as they experience life’s ‘big moments’ as little kids. From the excitement of going to your first swim lesson to getting your first haircut, JJ… invites little ones to join their favorite CoComelon characters as they celebrate life’s special milestones of growing up.”

One of the show’s main characters, Nico, has two dads. In one Episode 8 segment, “Dad and Papa” help Nic decide what to wear for a family picture. The trio sings a song in which Nico tries on different outfits, including a firefighter’s uniform, a chef’s coat, and a tutu and tiara.

That tiny moment now has conservatives in full-on apocalyptic meltdown mode.

Right-wing X account End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) posted the clip this week, along with the caption: “The new CoComelon Lane on Netflix has a boy in a dress dance for his 2 gay dads. CoComelon is the most popular show for babies and toddlers ages 2+.”

Professional transphobe and Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh reposted the clip, suggesting that “Netflix needs the full Bud Light treatment for this.”

Walsh, of course, was referring to the anti-trans boycott of the beer brand after it partnered with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney earlier this year.

On Wednesday’s episode of his Daily Wire show, Walsh described the episode as a “blatant” attempt to “force radical gender theory on toddlers.”

“Netflix has your child where they want him. Sitting there, eyes glued to the screen, passively absorbing whatever images, sounds, and ideas emerge from it. And if your kid happened to be watching Episode 8 of CoComelon Lane, he would passively absorb the idea that it’s normal for boys to dress like girls and that there’s nothing strange about a child having two dads,” Walsh ranted, comparing the streamer to “any groomer.”

“It’s all very deliberate and very evil, and sadly very effective,” he added.

Blaze Media host and columnist Auron MacIntyre posted a particularly incendiary response: “It’s not rocket science guys,” he wrote. “They’re just evil and want to diddle kids.”

Walsh’s fellow anti-trans Daily Wire commentators Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing used the manufactured controversy as an opportunity to tout the right-wing media company’s new kids’ streaming service, the bizarrely named Bentkey.

“Stop letting Hollywood indoctrinate your kids in gender garbage,” Shapiro posted along with a link to Bentkey.
