Horrific video shows a group of men attacking LGBTQ+ women on a Miami street. The women, who have not been identified in the media, include several lesbians and one transgender woman who were hanging out on November 26.

The survivors said that the men approached them and started shouting anti-LGBTQ+ slurs. “This group of guys, basically, they just started screaming stuff at us, anti-lesbian comments, like, ‘You’re only lesbians because you haven’t received actual’ and he used a profanity word… out of nowhere,” one of the survivors said.

Then they turned violent. The video shows one woman being punched repeatedly while another gets pushed to the ground and beaten.

“I know that I had a messed-up finger from the incident, they did strike me in the jaw, I’m now potentially having to have a hairline fracture, and I may need to have surgery,” said one of the victims, who was punched three times in the video. “It’s been a very difficult time, plus not to add the nightmares of feeling attacked and seeing my friend on the floor nonresponsive with blood.”

One of the victims told WTVJ that she lost consciousness during the attack so she doesn’t remember much.

“I definitely felt targeted for sure, I mean, they were definitely trying to hate on the fact that we were gay,” she said. “I don’t know why, I don’t understand to this day why.”

Miami Police say they’re investigating the attack as a possible hate crime. One of the victims identified one of the alleged assailants and said that she believes the men were professional fighters.

“It’s very concerning to see that they are still out and about and free and nothing has happened to them yet,” one survivor said.
