Vile account mocked a trans boy’s suicide & doxed his mother. They’re making money on X.

A hateful X account on Sunday mocked the suicide of a 14-year-old trans boy and doxed his grieving mother while blaming her for her son’s death.

The account, which goes by the name “‘Valid’ people taking L’s,” regularly posts transphobic content in the form of screenshots of trans peoples’ and allies’ accounts that users heap scorn and ridicule on.

According to Alejandra Caraballo, clinical instructor at Harvard University’s Cyberlaw Clinic, those posts are monetized by X.

“ValidLs account is now monetized. Ads are showing up right next to tweets mocking a 14 year old trans kid who died by suicide,” Caraballo posted on the platform.

According to The Daily Dot, brands featured by X next to ValidLs’ content include LG Electronics, Nordace, Trulieve, Buzznet, Knightscope, and Online Shopping Tools, among others. 

ValidLs flaunted their X ad revenue in response to Caraballo’s revelation.

“Here’s more to get mad about,” they posted with a screenshot documenting thousands of dollars in earnings.   

Comments on the post mocking the child’s mother called her complicit in her child’s death for accepting his diagnosis of gender dysphoria and writing about her struggles with depression and paying bills.

The boy died on Thursday.

The heartbreaking post featured two pictures of her son, one with him on life support while his mother kissed his forehead before he died.

“This is my 14 year old son Corei. Today he died, he was successful in his attempt to end his life. Despite family support, he was still targeted and suffered anti-trans hate online. ‘GC’ [gender critical, or transphobic] people, this is the reality of your bigotry. I hope you are proud.  #protecttranskids”

Carabello also drew attention to ValidLs Telegram account, which doxed the grieving mother and misgendered her dead child in the effort.

“It’s not just that the ValidLs account is getting paid thousands by Twitter to mock the suicide of a trans teen, he’s also doxed the mother in his telegram chat and posted her address for his followers to harass.”

Posted one X user below the mother’s goodbye: “They bullied a mourning mother and a child that lost his fight. I can’t believe how some people are so rotten from within.”
