Miley Cyrus’ breakup anthem “Flowers” has broken records as it dominates the charts. Not only has it remained #1 in the U.S., but it’s also currently the top song in over 35 countries.
An ode to her former husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, the song was released on his birthday and answers Bruno Mars’ heterosexual hit “When I Was Your Man,” a song Hemsworth dedicated to her. It also matches the Gloria Gaynor song, “I Will Survive.”
And that’s where the queer folks step in. It’s already been remixed.
Whether it’s Altégo’s incredible rendition that combines the two gay anthems or Loulou the Pug’s adorable rendition, the song has swept the internet, and the videos, memes, and tweets keep pouring in. We’ve even thrown in an uptight woman ruining the song with rewritten Christian lyrics.
