Twitter is having a field day with the fact that an amendment proposed by anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) flopped hard on Thursday.

A newly instituted rule by the Republican House majority allows any member to propose an amendment to a bill, which led to about 140 amendments being debated for the Strategic Production Response Act, which addressed the use of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Greene’s amendment sought to prevent President Biden from selling oil from the reserve, as his administration has sold a record amount of oil in an effort to lower gas prices.

Greene’s colleagues from both sides of the aisle did not like the idea at all. The bill was defeated 418-14, and now, people cannot get enough of the conspiracy theorist’s massive failure.

“Woof. Even my psilocybin amendment did better than this,” wrote Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY). She was referencing her failed amendment to an appropriations bill asking for money for research into using psychedelics like psilocybin for medical treatments – something that has historically had little support but only failed by a 140-285 vote in 2021.

Many others joined in to mock the person who has spent her career fanning the flames of hate and divisiveness.
