Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) shared a doctored video clip of President Joe Biden on social media to make him appear like Adolf Hitler.

“What we all saw tonight from Biden,” she wrote above the clip, which showed Biden with a Hitler mustache and swastikas on the red background. When played, the video’s audio was a part of a Hitler speech.

“I guess when President Butterbeans is frail, weak, and dementia ridden, the Hitler imagery was their attempt to make him look ‘tough’ while he declares war on half of America as enemies of the state,” she wrote, even though the “Hitler imagery” was edited onto the video of the president.

“Or it’s real…” she concluded. It was not real.

She used a clip from a speech Biden gave in Philadelphia last night, which was a rebuke of the rise of fascism in the country.

“As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault,” he said. “We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise.”

Biden called out “MAGA Republicans” who discredit election results — Donald Trump falsely called himself the “rightful winner” of the 2020 election earlier this week and demanded “a new Election, immediately!” — as “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards,” Biden said. “Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy. No right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”

“They promote authoritarian leaders. They fanned the flames of political violence.”

He gave the speech with red lighting and two U.S. Marines in the background, which many on the right have criticized as fascist imagery.

Biden’s speech, on the other hand, emphasized how opposition to democracy and equal rights are signs of fascism. Greene herself has made opposition to LGBTQ equality a centerpiece of her first term in office, and just this week she was mocking the idea that Biden received over 81 million votes and won the 2020 election, even though numerous investigations turned up no evidence of large-scale voter fraud, much less an interstate conspiracy led by Biden to steal millions of votes in key swing states.

On Twitter, people called out Greene for doctoring a video to make Biden look like Hitler. Others brought up Greene’s own history of anti-semitic comments.
