Conservatives are attacking Fox News host Chris Wallace for praising White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki in a recent segment following a press briefing where Psaki easily swatted down a question by the network’s White House Correspondent, Peter Doocy.

Wallace praised both Doocy and Psaki, referring to Doocy as “the Sam Donaldson of this White House press corps,” as in the former ABC News White House Correspondent who doggedly question the Reagan White House. He then said Psaki is “one of the best press secretaries ever,” and that “I don’t know that anything was particularly accomplished, but they both gave and got pretty good.”

Wallace sharing the tepid reality that Psaki is good at her job triggered a mountain of right-wing backlash.

“TURN OFF FOX NEWS,” Brigitte Gabriel tweeted. “You’re a clown,” added former Trump appointee Sebastian Gorka. “you’re never going to be good at your job like your dad,” Newsmax reporter Emerald Robinson claimed.

Even former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer jumped in on the topic by tweeting a report about Wallace’s comments from Mediaite.

Many commenters pointed out to the shocked conservatives that unlike Spicer and Kayleigh McEnany, both of whom were Press Secretaries for Trump and now host right-wing cable shows, Psaki is good at her job because she at least answers the question. Both have complained before about the praise Psaki receives.

Needless to say, plenty of people on both sides of the aisle agreed with Wallace’s sentiment, despite the ire of those on the right.

Even the Democratic Coalition got in on the fun
