Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson is at it again. Just when you think the bearded reality show star turned self-proclaimed preacher couldn’t get any loonier, he proves you wrong.
In a rambling speech at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver, Robertson downplayed the deaths of American soldiers fighting overseas to note that during the same time period 160,000 Americans were murdered. Who’s to blame? We are, of course.
The hellfire and damnation millionaire has previously called LGBT people “depraved,” said we “priss around and parade our perversion,” told attendees at a Ted Cruz campaign event that we need to “rid the earth” of “evil, wicked” gays, compared LGBT people to thieves and drunkards, and said gay men are responsible for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and AIDS.
Robertson was suspended from the Duck Dynasty show for about a week before the A&E television network reversed the suspension after boycott threats from the religious right.
