Ryan Reynolds: Deadpool could land a boyfriend in the sequel

Pandering? Perhaps.

The ultra-meta superhero flick Deadpool comes out this weekend, and star Ryan Reynolds says he wants to take the character’s sexuality even further in the obligatory slew of sequels.

Speaking to Variety, he said he’s quite aware that the character is pansexual, and hopes to explore what exactly that means in future iterations of the (projected) franchise.

“I love that about Deadpool,” Reynolds said, discussing the superhero’s fluid sexuality.

“I love that he can break any boundary. In the future, I hope we get to do that more.”

And as for the character eventually landing a boyfriend?

“I certainly wouldn’t be the guy standing in the way of that,” he said. “That would be great.”
