GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin will soon recognize same-sex marriage.
Press-Gazette Media reports Oneida law now defines marriage as between “husband and wife.” The change replaces “husband and wife” with “spouses” effective June 10.
According to a news release from the tribe Thursday, the change results from a unanimous vote of the Oneida Business Committee.
Same-sex marriage became legal in Wisconsin this past year.
