CINCINNATI – A man suspected of the murder of a transgender woman turned himself in to Cincinnati police on Wednesday.
Quamar Edwards was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of 28-year-old Tiffany Edwards, whose body was discovered by a sanitation worker on a Cincinnati street last week.
The suspect and victim are not related.
An arrest warrant had been issued last weekend for Quamar Edwards, saying he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police and local news reports had originally identified the victim by her male birth name, but family said she identified as Tiffany, and that she began transitioning at age 14.
Her family wondered if Tiffany’s death was a hate crime, but Quamar Edwards’ uncle said it was not. He said his nephew gave Tiffany a ride, but when she came onto him, he lost his cool, according to WLWT-TV.
Tiffany Edwards’ death is the fourth murder of a transgender woman in Ohio in the past 18 months, and the third murder of a young transgender woman of color.
