#ProudToPlay: YouTube campaign celebrates equality for all athletes

In celebration of the upcoming World Cup in Brazil and LGBT Pride month, YouTube is honoring the LGBT athletes, their supporters, and YouTube Creators who stand up for diversity in sports and elsewhere.

In the new video sharing campaign, YouTube is encouraging users to to upload their own videos about what being #ProudToPlay means to them:

Stereotypes are like records: made to be broken. Scoring a hat trick. Taking home the gold. Anyone can set the pace for the rest of the world. All it takes is determination, sweat, and heart.

It doesn’t matter what you look like, where you’re from, or who you love. All that matters is that you give it everything you’ve got for the team.

Let’s support a world where every athlete can be proud of who they are.
Proud of where they’ve been.
Proud of what’s to come.
Proud to Play.
