WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court did not issue rulings Tuesday in two closely watched cases — the constitutionality of Proposition 8, California’s ban on same-sex marriage, and the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman for purposes of federal recognition and benefits.
The two cases are among three remaining that the court has yet to issue rulings on this session.
Update: The Court announced it will issue the remaining decisions at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26.
