First Lady Michelle Obama discusses America’s ‘culture of bullying’

The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday and discussed her thoughts on the culture of bullying in our country.

“We need to start sending different messages to our kids,” the First Lady said.

“First of all, we need to let them know that it does get better, that challenges they face for the few years that they’re in high school or college, they can’t let that eat them up, because all of these young people, regardless of their race, their sexual orientation, they are gifts to us, and they have so much to offer.”

Mrs. Obama said it’s up to “the adults in the room to create the safe environment” and encourage their kids to speak out against bullying.
