The White House has unveiled a new web portal aimed at the Obama Administration’s LGBT constituency.
Described as the “first ever LGBT specific constituency webpage,” according to Brian Bond, the openly gay Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, the site is a resource “to learn about how President Obama and his team are working to win the future for LGBT Americans.”
“Since taking office, the President has demonstrated that his vision for a brighter future includes greater equality for LGBT Americans,” touts the website. “The President and his Administration are dedicated to eliminating barriers to equality, fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and engaging LGBT communities across the country.”

The site includes an extensive fact sheet of accomplishments, White House blog posts relating to LGBT issues, and links to the administration’s “It Gets Better” videos, StopBullying.gov, AIDS.gov and the Defense Department’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal page.
Obama on Tuesday issued a proclamation declaring June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, calling on Americans to “eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.”
This is the third consecutive year Obama has issued the proclamation.
