A popular British television host has been found dead in an apparent solo sex game gone wrong.

The ex-partner of openly gay BBC presenter Kristian Digby found the 32-year-old dead in his east London home on Monday.

A post-mortem examination is expected to determine that Digby, host of daytime property show To Buy or Not to Buy, died of suffocation after deliberately restricting his oxygen supply, London’s Daily Telegraph reported.

According to reports, a belt and a bag were removed from the property for forensic tests.

Auto-erotic asphyxiation, which has been condemned by medical experts as a dangerous practice, is said to heighten sexual arousal.

A BBC spokesman paid tribute and said: “Kristian was a much-loved and talented presenter for BBC Daytime. He brought a real sense of energy and warmth to all the shows he presented for us and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”
