Subscribers to the conservative Weekly Standard on Thursday received an anti-gay fundraising email warning that “radical homosexuals” were pushing the Student Non-Discrimination Act(SNDA) as part of an attempt to “indoctrinate” children while creating a “new America based on sexual promiscuity.”

Student Non-Discrimination Act needed to protect LGBT students from bullying

It’s essential that the Student Non Discrimination Act becomes part of Elementary and Secondary Education re-Authorization Act (ESEA) when it comes for vote in the Senate. It will expand the protection from bullying based on: religion, sex, national origin and disabilities to include protection for sexual orientation and gender identity for LGBT students.

PFLAG opened its bi-annual National Convention on Friday with a keynote address by Dr. Jill Biden, wife of U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden, who told the crowd of attendees, "As a teacher and a mom, I know what Jeanne Manford knew -- that there is a direct connection between acceptance and positive, healthy outcomes in every important area of life, including education, mental health, and physical health."
