OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Thousands of registered domestic partners have begun the week as married couples in the eyes of the state, under a component of Washington's same-sex marriage law that was approved by voters in 2012. A provision of that law converts all same-sex domestic partnerships -- in which both partners are under 62 years old -- to marriage on Monday.

One man in custody, another on the run in Seattle homicide of two gay men

SEATTLE -- One man is in custody and another suspect is on the run in last weekend's double homicide of two gay men in Seattle's Central District. Dwone Anderson-Young, 23, and Ahmed Said, 27, were fatally shot in the early morning hours on Sunday, June 1. Both victims are believed to have been gay.

Washington state reinforces insurance parity requirement for gay spouses
