Elementary school parents in Wilmington, Delaware are expressing outrage after being emailed a sarcastic anti-bullying form labeled a “Hurt Feelings Report.” The form mockingly labels victims of bullying as “whiners.”
The document includes questions like “Do you require a tissue for tears?” and “Is there permanent feeling damage?” Reasons for filing the report include “I am a wimp” and “I want my mommy.” A blank spot for details of the incident includes the instructions “Tell us in your own sissy words how your feelings were hurt, as if anyone cared.”
School officials, however, seem to brushing the incident off as an accident, saying it was “not an official document of Lombardy Elementary or the Brandywine School District.”
“This was an embarrassing mistake, but it was just that – a mistake,” spokeswoman Alexis Andrianopoulos said in an email to USA Today. “It should not have happened, and we apologize for the error.”
