DALLAS, TEXAS — In the last two months, there have been at least nine antigay attacks in the Oak Lawn area, and some of the victims were so badly injured they wound up hospitalized.

Dallas Police claim that each of the victims were walking alone at night in a public place when attacked and robbed.

Two of the attacks were severe enough to land one man in jail with a skull fracture after he was hit in the head with a baseball bat.

Another man wound up in the hospital after he was stabbed.

According to Rafael McDonnell of the Resource Center for the LGBT Community, “It’s obvious these people are going in a particular neighborhood and targeting particular people in that neighborhood.”

Police released a sketchy description of the attackers on Monday.

Five of the offenses were allegedly committed by a group of two to four Hispanic males, who knocked their victims to the ground, kicking and punching them, and stealing their belongings.

Investigators have reason to believe that a white Ford van was used during at least one of the robberies.

Two of the attacks were reportedly committed by a lone black male between 28 and 30 years old, who robbed his victims at gunpoint. The suspect is approximately five-feet, 10-inches tall and 150 pounds.

In one offense, he wore a yellow shirt and blue jeans. In the other attack, he wore a gray shirt and black pants.

One to three black men were involved in two more offenses. The victims were also knocked down, punched, kicked, and robbed. One of the men is between 18-20 years old, approximately five-feet, eight-inches tall and 150 pounds.

The other two suspects are both described as approximately five-feet, 10-inches tall and 185 pounds.

Residents are being asked not to walk alone at night, and businesses are now installing additional surveillance cameras.
