PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Governor Lincoln Chafee’s support of marriage equality for same-sex couples isn’t sitting well with the National Organization For Marriage (NOM). They’re spending thousands more on a new ad attacking the Governor.
Blah blah blah.. marriage is about kids, blah blah blah.
Once again, the NOM completely skips out on the thousand of infertile heterosexual couples, couples who don’t want kids, or the fact that allowing more people to marriage would put millions of homeless children into loving homes.
Watch the ad here:
On a related note: the NOM is still refusing court orders to reveal which organizations that is supplying the millions of dollars that they’re spending.

Hope they spend and waste lots of money….
stop the hate
NOM offends me both as a lesbian, and as single mother. They have no right to dictate what is “best” for other people’s children.
I have the right to tell NOM that i’m happy and proud to be living as a bisexual it’s not right for them to be spending thousands of dollars like crazy.
Ugh why can’t the world spend more time on pregnant teens than being in my grown ass business! I love men and women! Never gonna change that!
They just do this for attention, I mean seriously? It is an absolute obsession, I mean who dedicates their lives to telling people who they can love and marry unless they have been turned down themselves or just miserable.I think groups need to start digging up FACTUAL dirt on their hate group personally. I think they need to be full investigated.
Yesterday I received a direct-mail piece from NOM – it has pictures of Chafee and representative Peter Martin on the cover, and is extremely misleading. At first I thought it was from Martin and that he was advocating for a ban on same sex marriage! At any rate, I am writing to NOM to ask them to (1) take a look at all the peer-reviewed research indicating that children raised by same-sex couplesare just as healthy as children raised by heterosexual couples (2) consider the APA’s statement that NOT allowing same-sex marriage is harmful to the mental health of all LGBT individuals (and to most of the straight population as well, since the majority of us support equality and are really sickened by NOM rhetoric) and (3) to please take me off their mailing list… not sure how I got on there, as a am a registered Dem and subscribe to every left-leaning publication in print.
Hope others will do the same and let NOM know their message of hate is not acceptable to Rhode Islanders – Roger Williams would be appalled.
dumb. marriage isnt to pop out babies. and letting gay couples marry isnt going to stop people from popping out babies anyway.
