The youngest Speaker in the country, Ryan Fecteau, has big plans for his state.
Ryan Fecteau will be Maine’s first out Speaker of the House. He’s got a record of breaking barriers.
He was also the youngest out state lawmaker in the country when he was elected at 22. He’s 28 now.
Ryan Fecteau emerged victorious in the Democratic primary for Maine’s 11th House district on Tuesday, a development that could make him the youngest serving openly LGBT state lawmaker. Fecteau, 21, led opponent David Flood by a 493 to 263 vote margin with 100% of precincts reporting.
