A huge museum dedicated to our history could open its door as soon as 2021.

The exhibit traces 150 years of gay history in the country, including the first uses of the term “homosexual,” the brutal Nazi-era repression of gays and gradual moves toward legal equality starting in the 1960s.

Merlin Entertainment spokeswoman Kari Martin says a life-sized likeness of the “Orange is the New Black” co-star is scheduled to be unveiled at the Madame Tussauds’ in San Francisco on June 26.

ST. LOUIS — The Missouri History Museum is on the verge of the St. Louis region’s first mainstream collection of gay artifacts.

The nation’s first ever museum devoted to LGBT history, opened in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood today, showcasing archives that reflect nearly a century of gay culture and LGBT life.
