Mennonite minister guilty of aiding kidnapping in lesbian custody feud
BURLINGTON, Vt. — A federal court on Tuesday found a Virginia Mennonite minister guilty of aiding and abetting in an international kidnapping case, by assisting a woman embroiled in a child custody case with her former lesbian partner to flee the country with the couple’s young daughter.

In June, I penned a column, “The Fall of the Ex-Gay Myth,” which predicted that so-called “ex-gay” programs would crumble from internal rot. “It’s time for the discredited ‘ex-gay’ myth to simply go away and be rightfully viewed as an experiment that was tried and failed,” I wrote at the time. In the months since this column was written the decline of these “pray away the gay” organizations has only accelerated.

FBI makes arrest in lesbian pair’s kidnapping, child custody battle
A man accused of helping a former lesbian sneak a child out of the country, violating a court order that the mother turn the child over to her former same-sex partner, was arrested April 18 and will be arraigned in federal court in Vermont on Monday, April 25.
