Lee v. Pence
Lee et al. v. Pence et al., is a federal court challenge to Indiana’s ban on same-sex marriage, filed March 14, 2014, in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf of four lesbian couples who were legally married in other jurisdictions, and are seeking to have their marriages recognized as valid and lawful in Indiana. Three of the couples have spouses who are police officers, while the spouse of the fourth couple is a retired firefighter.
