Idaho governor wants full appeals court review of same-sex marriage ruling
Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter has filed a petition with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals requesting an “en banc” hearing by an 11-judge panel of the court in an appeal of a federal magistrate’s ruling striking down Idaho’s same-sex marriage ban. Typically, appeals are heard by a three-judge panel selected from the 29 judges that make up the Ninth Circuit.

Federal appeals courts set schedules in Idaho, Nevada and Texas marriage cases
Two more federal appeals courts are set to consider recent rulings declaring same-sex marriage bans in Idaho and Texas as unconstitutional, and an appeal of Nevada’s ban, which was upheld in 2012. The cases are De Leon v. Perry in Texas, Latta v. Otter in Idaho, and Sevcik v. Sandoval in Nevada.
