Who is eligible to be nominated?
Any individual (no organizations or businesses) is eligible to be LGBTQ Nation’s Hero of the Year. The nominee should have a history of helping others and must have continued or accomplished a major feat after August 2020. Eligible nominees can be engaging in any number of community projects or campaigns, no matter the scale, as long as they are proof that one person can truly make a difference.

Does my nominee have to identify as LGBTQ+?
Yes. Any person who fits under the LGBTQ+ umbrella is eligible. However, nominees will be considered that engage in heroic work outside of the LGBTQ community as well as within the LGBTQ community.

Do I have to know my nominee, personally?
Yes, we are looking for outstanding LGBTQ heroes who might not be getting attention from the media but who are inspiring the people around them.

How will I know if my nominee is selected?
If your nominee is selected, we will reach out to you via phone or email to let you know in addition to reaching out to your nominee.

If my nominee is selected, where will they be featured?
They will be interviewed by the LGBTQ Nation editorial team and featured on LGBTQ Nation.

Can I edit the nominee form after I’ve submitted it?
No, so please review all information carefully before submitting.
