Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is publicly feuding with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) after a CNN appearance in which Ocasio-Cortez blasted Republicans for removing Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the Foreign Affairs Committee while elevating people like Greene.

Greene posted the CNN clip on Twitter, in which Ocasio-Cortez expressed her belief that the Republicans are being hypocritical for removing Omar due to previous comments Omar has made that both parties condemned as antisemitic. Many say removing Omar is revenge for when the previous Democratic majority removed both Greene and Rep. Paul Goser (R-AZ) from their committees after they expressed support for violence against Democrats.

In the CNN interview, Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that Greene and other Republicans who have spread dangerous antisemitic rhetoric have been appointed to committees.

Ocasio-Cortez stated that Greene is “regularly trafficking in antisemitic conspiracy theories” and pointed out that Greene “was engaging in 9/11 conspiracy theories” and yet was appointed to the Homeland Security Committee by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“There is really no consistency here, and it needs to be very well known that this targeting of Ilhan Omar is because the Republican base finds it easy, the Republican base finds it politically self-rewarding,” Ocasio-Cortez stated.

Ocasio-Cortez, along with many other Democrats, has also accused Republicans of targeting Omar because she is Muslim, an immigrant, and a woman of color.

“Don’t tell me that this is about a condemnation of antisemitic remarks when you have a member of the Republican caucus [Greene] who has talked about Jewish space lasers and an untired amount of tropes and also elevated her to some of the highest committee assignments in this body,” Ocasio-Cortez stated on the House floor. “This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America.”

Along with her tweet of the CNN clip, Greene claimed Ocasio-Cortez was too afraid to debate her and accused her of acting like a “teenage girl.”

“@RepAOC I have repeatedly asked you to debate me,” she wrote, “but you have been a coward and can’t even respond. But you go on @CNN and lie about me. When are you going to be an adult and actually debate me on policy instead of run your mouth like a teenage girl?”

And Ocasio-Cortez decided to reply.

“Hey there! In case you forgot, we sit on the same committee, which debated for the first time this week. I don’t blame you if you forgot. You spent almost no time there. In the few minutes you did show up, you claimed one elementary school got *$5 billion dollars* to teach CRT,” she wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

Many on Twitter said Ocasio-Cortez probably didn’t want to waste her time debating Greene. Others replied with their feelings about what an AOC v. MTG debate would look like.
