He transitioned at 57 & now he’s sharing his story with the world

A man who transitioned at 57 has been sharing his story with the world, both about his journey with transitioning and also with his partner, who he calls his “Queen.”

In one of his most popular TikToks, Devin Delani said, “Left a 30 year marriage, moved across the country, transitioned at 57, FTM, broke, alone, sink or swim, it was time to rebuild. I started with 4 jobs working 80 hour work weeks.”

Devin had met his current partner Rowan after they both got out of decades-long heterosexual marriages. They initially got together as lesbians.

“Two years into our relationship, Devin started their transition,” Rowan said to PinkNews. “We got together as lesbians originally. Devin’s transition wasn’t on our radar at all. It wasn’t even a conversation we had for the first two years we were together.”

Rowan talked about the couple’s journey in a TikTok as well.

“My partner is a trans man. How could I love a trans man? It’s easy, because I know who I am and how I love. I love the human, the person. True love far surpasses gender. Love is love, and true love, is the best love ever.”

Devin’s trans journey came not because of his marriage but because he was seeking more in his life. When he grew up, being trans was unheard of.

“It wasn’t something that was public. You couldn’t just go up and say: ‘Oh, this is Mr Trans and Mrs Trans.’ It wasn’t like that at all. Even to be gay, to be bi, anything outside what’s considered ‘the norm’ [was unheard of],” he said to PinkNews.

But now, he’s able to pursue his dreams while still embracing his identity.

“I wake up grateful for life. I love the full moon, spend time with friends, and time in nature too. I’m in love with my queen, have times when I’m scared (zip line in Vegas), and times when I need a kiss. I have dreams (actor), I love food, I’m concerned for the world, and I like to celebrate being me! See, I’m human just like you! So let’s live in love, and make it a beautiful life!”
