Sunday, March 31 marked the annual Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), a day trans conservative Caitlyn Jenner seems to have some very mixed feelings about.
On Saturday, she expressed outrage that President Joe Biden honored the day with a statement praising trans people’s contributions to society and describing actions his administration has taken to counter transphobia.

“Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families or running businesses, they help America thrive.”
Like many right-wingers, Jenner appeared appalled that TDOV happened to fall on Easter this year (the TDOV always falls on March 31, and Easter’s date changes annually), apparently believing it is not possible for two unrelated holidays to take place at the same time.

“I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days – a self proclaimed devout Catholic – as Transgender Day of Visibility,” Jenner wrote on X. “The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen’.”
But many social media users called attention to a 2017 post from Jenner in which she happily celebrated TDOV.
“There’s no better visibility than with my sisters by my side,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself with five other women.
“Oh look it’s documented proof of you grifting,” one person wrote beneath the seven-year-old post on Saturday.
Another called her a “hypocrite,” adding, “Shame on you.”
Despite being a trans woman herself, Jenner has aligned herself with the anti-trans right and consistently supports anti-trans legislation and policies. She has, for example, proclaimed that trans women are not real women, supported anti-trans sports bans, and railed against ” radical gender ideology infiltrating the classrooms.”
Other right-wingers who agreed with Jenner’s outrage over Biden’s TDOV statement included former President Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who called on the White House “to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only – the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) added, “The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter — which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Banning sacred truth and tradition—while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day’—is outrageous and abhorrent. The American people are taking note.”
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the first gay immigrant U.S. congressman, wrote that the right-wing outrage over TDOV is “sick and cruel”, adding that “we can all celebrate Easter and the teachings of Jesus by modeling kindness, compassion, and loving thy neighbor – and yes, that includes trans folks and families.”
