Sure as you’re standing there, it’s Pride again.
For four years running now, we’ve asked our readers to share a memorable pic from their Pride celebrations, and you’ve responded with hundreds of scenes of joy, laughter, tears and rainbows… lots of rainbows 🌈🌈🌈. For Pride in Pictures 2023, the colors are just as bright and the laughter just as joyful.
The story: What makes this photo so special is that we were marching at Miami Beach Pride this year as Florida was in the midst of a heavy legislative session, and we used this year’s celebration as a form of protest.
We were also protesting against Republican Miami Beach representative Fabian Basabe, who has been voting against our community and decided to show up to the parade. We were all in unity as a community and carrying the light inside of us.
