JoJo Siwa told far-right pundit Candace Owens to “back the f**k off” after the Daily Wire podcast host decided to dedicate a six-minute video to accusing Siwa of pretending to be a lesbian for attention.
The virulently anti-LGBTQ+ Owens said Siwa came out “because it’s a great way to find a community of victims” and that the 19-year-old pop sensation now does the “bidding” of LGBTQ+ people.

JoJo Siwa said company president was bothered when came out to her “young demographic”
She said he called her in for a meeting after she came out by wearing a “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.” t-shirt.
“This has become a brand for her,” Owens said. She also brought up some recent backlash Siwa has experienced for pretending to be pregnant on TikTok, saying the fake pregnancy along with her claiming to be gay are both signs that she needs help.
“I know her brand is happy and sparkly… People that you see that put on an appearance of happiness all the time are usually the people that are suffering the most internally,” Owens said, “and there is no question to me that what we have observed from her over the last few years has been one giant cry for help.”

Owens said the proof that Siwa is actually just lost and confused lies in the singer’s “ruthless” attacks on the anti-LGBTQ+ actress Candace Cameron Bure, of whom Siwa was a fan as a child.
“I think deep down JoJo Siwa wants to be like Candace Cameron,” Owens said, “but she can’t now because she’s resigned herself to a brand of LGBTQ awareness, and it’s driving her crazy, and she did this for attention.”
Owens then warned that Siwa is headed down a “dark path.”
On Thursday, Siwa responded to Owens in a tweet.
“I haven’t watched the video yet,” she wrote, “But if it has anything to do with your caption, respectfully back the f**k off.”
Siwa became a vocal LGBTQ+ advocate after she came out in early 2021. Her coming out has been considered massively influential for today’s youth due to the size of her fan base.
In October, she shared details of her “gay awakening” via a viral TikTok challenge. Siwa posted a video where she “rapped” about the pop culture moments that led her to understand her sexuality.
She also became part of the first-ever same-sex pair on season 30 of Dancing with the Stars, ABC’s popular and long-running dance competition show.
“It’s really special that not only now do I get to share with the world that you get to love who you want to love, but also you get a dance with whom you want to dance,” she told Variety when the news broke.
“I want to make it OK for the people who come after me,” she said. “I want to make everything OK for the people who come after me.”
Owens, on the other hand, has a long anti-LGBTQ+ history. In 2021, she attacked former NBA player Dwyane Wade for being supportive of his transgender daughter Zaya. And after the Club Q shooting, she said that anti-transgender rhetoric from conservatives like her had nothing to do with it and then said that gender-affirming care is “experimenting on children’s genitals with puberty blockers.”
She also recently said she would beat her hypothetical transgender grandchild with a cane if they came out to her.
