Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is getting criticized for accusing Ukrainians of being Nazis and asking what they think about a Pride flag.
“Do the Nazi’s in the Ukrainian army know?” she wrote with a picture of a version of the LGBTQ Progress Pride flag that had extra blue and yellow stripes, representing Ukraine.

The flag is one of many that integrates a country’s national flag with a rainbow flag in order to represent LGBTQ people in that country like the rainbow U.S. flag does.

She added the hashtag “Azov,” a reference to the Ukrainian Azov Regiment. The Azov Regiment has been hailed as heroes in Ukraine while the Kremlin accuses the group of being Russia-hating Nazis. Saying that Ukrainian leaders are Nazis has been a major tactic of Russian anti-Ukraine propaganda, but the group does have a background as a far-right ultra-nationalist military unit. Under previous leaders, the group has attacked minority groups and some members have spouted neo-Nazi ideals. Putin has used that as an excuse to paint all Ukrainians as Nazis.

On Twitter, Greene got called out for her generally pro-Russia and anti-LGBTQ stances in the past, which make it hard to tell if she was praising the supposed Nazis or criticizing them.
I'm pretty sure those Nazis have the same opinion of that flag as you do

Are you aware that Russia invaded THEM? That they've got orders to rape women and children, bomb maternity hospitals and commit various war crimes? Go move to Russia. Our soldiers didn't fight for people like you to spit in their face.

I think your voters out in Georgia deserve to know that you're insulting a free nation, Ukraine, whose people fight like lions every day. A nation that has risen to drive out the foreign barbarians who ravage their land. Every patriot who knows Ukraine backs Ukraine.
