Fox News host Tucker Carlson was quickly exposed as a liar after he pretended that his account had been restored by Elon Musk. While the company is being sold to Musk, he is not in control of anything yet.
Instead, after he insulted Admiral Rachel Levine, a transgender woman who serves as Assistant Secretary of Health, Carlson’s account had been suspended until he deleted the offending tweet. After refusing to delete it for over a month, he deleted it and his account was restored.

Twitter agreed to accept Musk’s $44 billion offer to buy the company yesterday. The sale has not happened yet and won’t be completed until later this year.

But that didn’t stop Carlson – or at least his producers – from peddling his version of the truth to his audience.
While the account’s first tweet after being restored was simply, “We’re back,” the chyron at the bottom of the screen during his show blared: “UNSHACKLED BY ELON MUSK: FREE SPEECH RESTORED; @TUCKERCARLSON BACK ON TWITTER”
We’re back.

Carlson has a history of ridiculing Levine on air and social media. He repeatedly misgendered her and his account was suspended until he removed a particularly egregious tweet.
A Fox News spokesperson said he would never delete the tweet, but it appears that the opportunity to pitch Carlson as a hero to his gullible viewers was too much for the staff to pass up.
The tweet was deleted.
