Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is now claiming that the Democratic party supports pedophiles and is “the party of Princess predators from Disney,” adding that Democratic “elementary school teachers” are forcibly transitioning students.
Speaking with the far-right site Real America’s Voice, Greene ranted about how President Joe Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and Senate Democrats’ support for her – as well as Republican Senators Mitt Romney (UT), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Susan Collins (ME) – proves that Democrats are “pro pedophile.”

“The Democrats are the party of pedophiles,” Greene stated. “The Democrats are the party of Princess predators from Disney. The Democrats are the party of, of teachers, elementary school teachers trying to transition their elementary school-age children and convince them they’re a different gender.”

There is no evidence that teachers are forcing elementary school children to transition (or children of any age). The few stories that gain traction in rightwing media about schools and trans kids usually involve schools accommodating transgender students by using their names and pronouns.
Earlier today, CNN reported that one such case that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has been using to justify his state’s Don’t Say Gay law was actually false. DeSantis claimed that January Littlejohn’s school district “changed [her child’s] name to a boy’s name, had her dress like a boy and on doing all this stuff, without telling the mother or getting consent from the mother.”
Emails between Littlejohn and her child’s teacher showed that Littlejohn herself was the first person to inform the school that her child is non-binary and asked them to do “whatever you think is best” and to work with her child.
The connection to Judge Jackson is that Republicans have accused her of giving “pedophiles lighter sentences,” a claim that PolitiFact rated “false.”
