In a sketch, Maddie humorously discussed coming out as straight to her parents, and another drag queen joked that she was straight too. Here, Bosco is coming out as a straight woman.
In subsequent tweets, they explained that they use she/they pronouns and that they started hormone replacement therapy after filming the season of Drag Race.
“This is something that’s been on my mind for over a decade now,” she wrote. “I’ve spent my adult life working in the food industry and have never felt financially secure enough to start this process.”
“Honestly, I was also just flat out terrified of how I’d be treated. I still am.”
Despite being worried about how others will react, Bosco said that she’s “the happiest I’ve ever been” now that she’s living her truth.
