Queer Eye is back and this time the Fab Five are headed to Austin, Texas to liven things up and lift some spirits. But one episode this season is exactly what you need to restore your hope as we head into 2022.

Episode two features Angel, a transgender powerlifter, and her transformation will give viewers all the feels.

Netflix has had several challenges surrounding the transgender community over the past year, but this episode of Queer Eye is the television you’ve been hoping for.

Angel is a transgender, competitive powerlifter and recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. Angel’s father encouraged her to play every sport and she excelled as a high school athlete. In the gym she dominates and rules, but outside of the gym, it’s another story. Angel has never felt comfortable with herself or confident with her body in public.

Besides all of the newness that coming out as transgender has brought to her life in the past year, Angel has also been navigating changing relationships with her girlfriend and family. The Fab 5 helps Angel realize that being yourself is not being selfish, and self-worth does not depend on whether others accept you or not.
