Fox News Laura Ingraham was clearly bothered on her show last night by out SNL actor Kate McKinnon’s hilarious impersonation of her. So she responded by doing her impersonation of McKinnon doing an impersonation of Ingraham.

McKinnon has been mocking Ingraham for years on SNL, and this past Saturday she opened the show by commenting on the news as the Fox News host, complete with her trademark slurring, nasal voice, thoughtless derision, and general unpleasantness.

“Inflation’s out of control, gas is at $19 a gallon, and the green M&M has been canceled just for being a whore,” McKinnon joked. “Things are so bad in Biden’s America.”

While public figures mocked on SNL usually have the good sense to either laugh along with the joke or ignore it, Ingraham was so bothered by it this time that she brought it up on her show.

The real Ingraham did a segment about McKinnon’s impersonation with a chyron that called McKinnon “cringey.”

Then things got weird.

“The reason I like Kate McKinnon  and I have so much respect for her as a talent, she’s so even-handed in her political commentary,” Ingraham said as McKinnon as Ingraham. “But seriously, think of all the low-hanging fruit provided by Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, little Petey B and the Squad on a near daily basis.”

So Ingraham’s criticism was, apparently, that McKinnon doesn’t present both sides of the political spectrum in her comedy and make fun of Democrats like out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), even though Ingraham’s political commentary isn’t even-handed or neutral either.
