Comedian Kathy Griffin had a great clapback to a protestor who called vaccine mandates “gay.”

A picture went viral over the weekend that showed someone protesting vaccine mandates.

“MANDATE SOUNDS GAY TO ME,” their sign read, a pun about “man” and “date.” Some people on Twitter said that they recognized the photo’s background as Yucca Valley, California.

“In response to this sign I say ‘Well then, maybe that’s why I love vax mandates,'” Griffin retorted.

Others on Twitter had trouble taking the protestor seriously.
