The MAGA crowd and evangelicals are getting a small taste of what it’s like to be a queer person – at least when it comes to getting the COVID vaccine. The anti-vaxx Trump followers are coming in disguise to secretly get the vaccine and hiding it from their friends and family because they fear rejection.
In both cases, coming out of the closet will save lives and inspire others.

Dr. Priscilla Frase of Ozarks Healthcare in Missouri recently spoke to ABC News about the hospital’s willingness to meet people where they are. She says people have been coming in disguise to get the jab and begging health care workers not to tell anyone they were there.
“I’ve had several people come in to get vaccinated who have sort of tried to disguise their appearance and even went so far as to say, ‘Please, please, please don’t let anybody know that I got this vaccine. I don’t want my friends to know,'” Frase said.
Ozarks Healthcare now offers a private room where people can get the vaccine where no one can see. Similar measures have been taken by officials to encourage gay men to get tested for HIV.
Only 40% of people in Missouri are fully vaccinated. The state has the second-highest per capita rate of infections in the country.
