Anti-LGBTQ Fox News host Tomi Lahren is facing backlash from her conservative fans for not attacking trans people enough.

On Twitter, Lahren referred to California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner with “she” pronouns and used Jenner’s first name in promoting an upcoming interview.

“California is failing and @Caitlyn_Jenner believes it is worth fighting for. I’ll discuss my interview with her next on @foxandfriends,” a tweet posted to Lahren’s account said. It included a clip where Jenner said that California is “sick” in part because of its “homeless problem” and environmentalists.

Normally, Lahren talking to a prominent GOP candidate about deregulation would be red meat for her fanbase. But not here.

Lahren got slammed with comments saying that she should not refer to Jenner with she/her pronouns.

Still others referred to Jenner with her deadname.

The problem isn’t limited to Lahren’s tweets – just searching Caitlyn Jenner’s name on Twitter shows that attacking her gender identity is a common way for critics to belittle her.

What is surprising here is that, despite Lahren’s strong anti-LGBTQ credentials, even she is getting called out by the right for using the correct name and pronouns to refer to Jenner.

Lahren’s past includes when she got mad at Barack Obama for supporting marriage equality.

She forcefully decried out actor Billy Porter when he wore a dress to the Oscars, accusing LGBTQ people of “attacking traditional men and marriage at every turn.”

“The military is not a social experiment. Finally a POTUS who understands the concept. Political correctness=intellectual dishonesty!” she once tweeted about Donald Trump’s transgender military ban. She also tweeted that the Trump administration’s attacks on trans rights were going to “return America’s taxpayer funded bathrooms and locker rooms to normal.”

Lahren relies heavily on gender stereotypes to belittle others She said last year that Joe Biden “might as well carry a purse” because he wore a facemask in public during the coronavirus pandemic.
