Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is ripping into corporations who are touting their support for Pride Month while they also throw money at anti-LGBTQ politicians who persecute the queer community.

Jayapal has taken to Twitter showing screenshots of companies who’ve changed their social media graphics to “show Pride” along with the receipts on how much they’ve paid to block pro-LGBTQ legislation.

AT&T donated $56,295 to Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) 2020 campaign. McConnell has held LGBTQ civil rights legislation hostage for years in the Senate, both as a minority and majority leader.

AT&T is also being held accountable by the #KeepYourPride campaign that also targets supposed allies who are funding anti-LGBTQ politicians who actively harm the community. The group is also focusing on Anheuser-Busch, NBCUniversal, General Motors, and Coca-Cola.

Together the five companies targeted by the campaign donated almost $350,000 to politicians who’ve used it to attack the queer community.

“What a fun Pride display!” Jayapal tweeted to American Airlines with a screenshot of their rainbowed logo and Twitter cover photo.

“But what’s not fun is that American Airlines donated $46,617 to Mitch McConnell’s 2020 campaign – while he actively blocking the Equality Act from becoming law.”

Raytheon and Walmart have also been singled out by the congress member.
