In 2018, the “You Should Be Here” singer kissed Demi Lovato on stage and later came out as queer.
“cuz i keep geddin asked,” Kehlani tweeted at the time. “i’m queer. not bi, not straight. i’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non binary people, intersex people, trans people. lil poly pansexual papi hello good morning. does that answer your questions?”
In 2020, Kehlani said that she is “definitely on the non-binary scale.”
“My energy has always been extremely fluid between masculine and feminine so that’s why I use ‘queer’, and also, queer is inclusive to non-binary people,” she told DIVA Magazine. “But I still prefer and am totally fine with the pronoun ‘she.’”
